Emailing a Report (CSV) file
When a report is produced it is presented in a Window to view it. At the top right hand corner is an Email button. If this button can not be selected it is because your Email Server has not been defined in the Settings option. You can also send the Report to a Printer using the Print Button or save the report to a Microsoft Excel format spreadsheet.
When the Email button is selected :- (a) The report is saved to disk in a file in Excel format. It is stored in a "temp " folder within the installation folder of this product. (b) The Email Window is presented. Complete the details and select the "Send" button to send Email. The Excel spreadsheet file is sent as an attachment to the address provided. Each time you send an email the details (not the Message) are saved for your next email.
The beauty of the above system is that you can extract information from this product using a Report and then email it. The data arrives as an attachment. The recipient of the Email will need Microsft Excel to view the attached spreadsheet. This enables you to do many things with the data which this product was not originally designed to do. For example Client or Customer information can be extracted and then used to produce Mail-merge documents or Labels. |
